With the focus shifting to GitLab, this issue regards the retirement of Gitea from the libre.moe infrastructure. Now, this will not happen quickly, but for the future, I am thinking of doing the following:

  • Disconnect authentication from auth.libre.moe and use local auth instead
  • Move Gitea to my homelab, hosting it on git.langrock.info instead
  • Keep git.libre.moe served by proxying git.langrock.info, keeping all links alive and the service transparent
  • The service will from then on drop SSH but remain online with reduced availability due to different hosting architecture

Gitea will be moved langrock.info architecture. It will not be retired, but instead dropped as a libre.moe service. The migration will likely happen sometime in late April and result in SSH becoming unusable. After the migration, git.libre.moe will proxy git.langrock.info but this will be changed to a redirect in the distant future.

Gitea has been move to langrock.info. Due to (Gitea's implementation of) OIDC, the login page is now configured to always redirect to git.langrock.info, so git.libre.moe is something like read-only archive.
